Back to School Plans

One of the best parts about sending the kids back to school is that it is the prefect time to change your family routine. It is a time that you can recommit yourself and your family to things such as family prayer and scripture study as well as family home evening. Here are some back to school scheduling and planning trips that will prevent the most important things from being lost in the shuffle. First it is important to set aside a specific time each day that you will have family prayer and scripture study. It may be before school … Continue reading

Choose to Attend Seminary

Seminary can be a great blessing. It teaches the youth about the scriptures and it can really help to build testimonies. It may be a difficult decision for some youth when they decide to take seminary, particularly if it is early morning seminary, but the benefits far outweigh the inconveniences. Seminary is the opportunity that our youth have to take an in depth look at the scriptures in a class. When you are studying the scriptures in class every day, you can learn more about the themes and specific principles that the scriptures teach. Sunday school lessons take a more … Continue reading

The LDS Families Week in Review: February 18th – February 24th

I’m afraid that I didn’t get the regular Relief Society and Sunday School lessons completed this week, due to sporadic Internet access while on the road. I’m going to do a more ‘traditional’ breakdown of the week in review as a result, rather than a breakdown by class. Thankfully, Miriam was on the ball and in a writing frenzy, giving you no lack of things to read! Monday, February 19th: The week started off with a summary of the Sunday School lesson in Gospel Doctrine: An Overview of the Sermon on the Mount. Miriam then provided a fantastic FHE lesson … Continue reading
